Rachel Taketa is the Library Specialist for the Industry Documents Digital Library (IDL) at the University of California, San Francisco, Library and Center for Knowledge Management. The IDL contains more than 14 million documents created by major pharmaceutical, tobacco and chemical companies related to their advertising, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and scientific research activities. As Library Specialist, Rachel assists researchers through search workshops and webinars, provides reference services, acquires and describes new documents, and heads web archiving projects for the unit. Rachel holds an MLIS from California State University, San Jose. She is also a member of the Society of California Archivists and has worked with UCSF since 1994.
